House of Heat: "Nike’s blueprint for re-issuing classics for the annual Air Max Day celebration has helped hype-up the seven-year-old event, with classics like the Air Max 1 “Safari” (2016), Air Max 1 “Elephant” retro (2017) and of course the Air Max 1 OG in 2018. Now you can add one more banger to the esteemed list the return of Dave Ortiz’s DQM x Nike Air Max 90 “Bacon“, a pair which released way back in 2004. Dave’s Quality Meat (DQM) was that far ahead of its time. Its Butcher-themed aesthetic from wall to wall included apparel ranging from meathooks and other items stored inside refrigerator displays made DQM such a standout in New York sneaker scene, that Nike decided to link up with the retailer for a special-edition Air Max 90. The store’s theme carried over through a meaty rendition of the Air Max classic, from fatty beiges to tender reds and pinks and well-done browns. The use of premium leathers and suedes were a nod to the store’s attention to detail — even though the collaboration is said to have only taken a day to put together."
